The SUNMOD Configuration Tool is a browser-based application for connecting directly to supported SUNMOD modules over USB serial. It can place the module in Manual/Config or Automatic mode, read device status and settings, write configuration values, control supported outputs in Manual/Config Mode, and save settings, snapshots, and communication logs locally.
Manual/Config Mode allows users to evaluate the module, verify its operation, and configure operating parameters for a particular application. Settings can be adjusted to suit the connected solar panel, battery, load, and required operating behavior. A typical workflow is to enter Manual/Config Mode, inspect the device status, configure and verify the required parameters, and then return the module to Automatic mode. The module can then use its stored settings to operate independently in the final application without continuous control from the Configuration Tool.
The application includes contextual information buttons and tooltips for many settings, status indicators, and controls. Select an information icon in the app to view additional guidance without leaving the current page. Behvolt maintains this in-app guidance on a best-effort basis; consult the applicable product documentation when complete electrical or safety details are required.
Supported products
The application supports SUNMOD03PU device identifiers 01F1.6, 01F1.7, 01G1.7, 01G1.8, and 01G1.9. The first two digits identify the product, the letter identifies the PCB version, and the dotted number identifies the firmware version. All five use protocol 1.7 with the same settings, features, and responsive application layout.
Browser and platform compatibility
| Platform | Support | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS | Supported | Use a current version of Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. |
| Android | Supported | Use Chrome 148 or later. The phone or tablet must support USB host/OTG operation and the connected USB-to-UART bridge. |
| iPhone and iPad | Not supported | Safari and WebKit do not currently provide the Web Serial interface required by this application. |
| Safari and Firefox | Not supported | These browsers do not currently provide the required Web Serial interface. |
| Other Chromium browsers | May work | They may expose Web Serial, but are not officially tested by Behvolt. |
Device connection requires a secure HTTPS page, a compatible browser, and permission to access the serial port selected by the user.
Language support
The application interface is written in English but is structured to work with Google Translate and other browser-based translation features, allowing explanatory text to be viewed in many languages. Technical identifiers—including product names, UART commands, signal and fault names, pin names, units, and logic states such as HIGH and LOW—are marked to remain in English so translation does not change their engineering meaning. Browser-generated translations are provided by the browser or translation service and may not reproduce every sentence exactly.
Documentation
Important: This documentation provides general operational guidance and does not replace the applicable product datasheet, electrical specifications, or safety instructions. Confirm product compatibility and configuration values before use. Use of the application and its documentation is subject to the Behvolt Terms of Service.
